The National Monuments Service's description
John Browne of Graigroben was a juror in 1600 (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 558) and Walter Browne of Graigrobin was fined in 1618 (ibid. vol. 6, 548). According to an inquisition of 1633 40 acres at Grayrobin in Tomhaggard parish was owned by Walter Browne (Jeffrey 1979, 50) and according to the Civil Survey (1654-6) John Browne owned 60 acres at Grage Robbin in 1640 (Simington 1953, 129), but there is no mention of a castle.
