Situated on a level landscape. This is the site of the parish church of Killinick, which is named after Inick, one of the seven daughters of Hugh, which is listed by Synnott writing c. 1680 (Hore 1921, 59). This is St. Angais of Killart, Co. Kildare (KD031-020001-), one of three daughters of Aodh, son of Eirnín, who were under St. Bridget of Kildare (Ó Riain 2011, 63). According to a visitation by Thomas Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1615 Jacob Stafford was the curate of Kilkinnick and the church and chancel were in repair (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 268). John O'Donovan records that the site of the old church is now occupied by the modern one (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, 282), which was built in 1828 (Lewis 1839, vol. 2, 149), but the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map places the church site S of the present St. Enoch’s Church of Ireland church in Ballyrane townland. There are no visible remains at ground level of an older structure within a small rectangular graveyard (dims c. 40m E-W; c. 35m N-S), although the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map depicts a circular graveyard (diam. c. 30m).
