The National Monuments Service's description

A recent photogrammetric survey of the Tintern area conducted by Simon Dowling identified an area of field banks in the valley N of the abbey covering an area of c. 4 ha (c. 9 acres). About four rectangular fields (dims c. 40-45m x c. 90m) can be identified. These are probably related to the Cistercians rather than the Colcloughs.
