The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a slight E-facing slope. This is a raised oval area (dims. 36m NE-SW; 23m NW-SE) overgrown with scrub that is defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-4.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.9m at N to 2m at S), incorporating the townland boundary with Castleworkhouse at E, with an outer fosse (Wth of top 2.3-4.2m; ext. D 0.5m). There is an entrance (Wth 5.5m) at NW, which might not be the original entrance (max. ext. dims 46m NE-SW; 35m NW-SE).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
