The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a fairly level landscape. Archaeological monitoring (01E0250) associated with roadworks identified medieval material just N of Rathaspick church site (WX042-010001-). Further sampling (01E0345) confirmed that an extensive complex was involved, including several ditches, and led the excavator to suggest that it may have been a moated site (Mullins 2003).
