The National Monuments Service's description
According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) Alexander Rossiter owned a ‘weir out of repair’ located ‘on a little river near (the castle WX041-015----)’ in 1640 (Simington 1953, 83). The little stream is probably one of the streams S of the castle on the border with Marshalstown, but the location of the mill is not precisely known.
