The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a gentle S-facing slope. This is a rectangular area (dims. 27m N-S; 26m E-W) overgrown in mixed wood with slightly raised corners. It is defined by flat-bottomed moats (at E: Wth of top 6m; Wth of base 4.2m; int. D 1m; ext. D 2.9m) and outer banks (Wth c. 3m; ext. H 1m) on the N and E sides. A drain enters the moat at the centre of the S side and flows through the W moat to the NW corner where it turns W. The outer bank has been levelled into the moat on the W side. (Barry 1977, 227, WX 114)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
