The National Monuments Service's description
A schist stone (H c. 0.9m; max. Wth c. 0.23m; T 6cm) from the church (WX038004001-) at Begerin is now in the Ferns Visitor Centre at Ferns Castle (WX015-003001-). It has a circular head which is damaged. On one face is a cross in relief with a hollow triangular base and incised lines outlining the cross-ring. The other side may have had a Maltese cross in a circle at the crux. Beneath this are two figurative panels. The upper is badly worn but has three figures. The lower has a single horseman. A ninth century date and a Cornish influence is suggested for this stone (Harbison 1988, 63-6).
