The National Monuments Service's description

Lewis (1837, vol. 2, 711) records the discovery of 'a carved urn of unbaked clay, containing calcined bones' in 1831, near Windmill Hill. The precise location of the find is not known, and the present state of the urn is also unknown.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
