The National Monuments Service's description

Marked on the 1839 and 1941 eds of the OS 6-inch map and described in gothic lettering as St. Margaret’s Well on both. It is located on a shelf of a NE-facing slope overlooking Wexford town. It is not visible at ground level in an open area in the College Green housing estate other than as a manhole. There is no record of veneration.
