The National Monuments Service's description
The earliest references to the church of Holy Trinity date from 1644 when the chapel was already in ruins. It is described c. 1680 as being on Castle Hill but its stones had been used to repair the castle (WX037-032001-) (Hore 1862, 66). The exact site is unknown but it would be located between the Castle and the site of Trinity Well (WX037-038----). (Hore 1900-11, vol. 5, 18, 84)
