The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a gentle S-facing slope. This is a subrectangular wooded feature (dims 102m N-S: 97m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 6-8.5m; int. H 1.5m; ext. H 2-3m) with rounded corners and an external fosse (Wth of top 5.5-8m; Wth of base 2-3m; ext. D 0.5-1m) on all sides except the SW. There is an entrance (Wth 7m), now blocked, on the SW side with a roadway in the interior defined by a scarp down to the road surface on the N side and a stone wall on the S side leading from the SW entrance to rectangular enclosures at the N corner of the interior. These are probably modern, and there is an entrance (Wth 2.5m) and causeway on the NE side that is probably original. A bullaun stone (dims. 0.9m x 0.45m; H 0.35m) with a single basin (diam. 0.28m; D 8 cm) is inside the perimeter at the S corner. (Westropp 1918, 13)
