This is the parish church of Tellarought within a rectangular graveyard (dims. c. 25m NE-SW; c. 20m NW-SE) known only from the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is marked faintly. John Alcocke is listed as the priest in a visitation by Bishop Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1612 but according to the 1615 Visitation there was no priest. However, the church and chancel were in good repair in 1615 (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 263, 270). The church is marked as a small rectangular feature (dims. c. 10m NE-SW; c. 5m NW-SE) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and described by John O’Donovan writing c. 1840 (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 2, 357) as almost gone. The church and graveyard are situated on a slight SW-facing slope of a shallow N-S valley and on the NW side of a NE-SW road. Nothing is visible at ground level and the location is now incorporated into the expanded graveyard around Tellarought Roman Catholic church. The site of Lady's Well (WX034-041----) is c. 40m to the S, and St Bridget's Well (WX034-072----), which is still venerated, is c. 100m SW of the church site. Lewis (1837, vol. 2, 588) records that Tellarought was formerly an extensive settlement, remains of which were found in ploughing, but the precise location of such a discovery is not known. Tellarought tower house (WX034-041----) is c. 50m to the SW.
