The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as a rectangular embanked or moated enclosure (ext. dims. c. 50m N-S; c. 30m E-W) missing its perimeter at W on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is located on a plateau at the bottom of a N-facing slope but overlooking the SW-NE Clonmore River that is c. 120m to the W and c. 150m to the N. This is a square grass-covered area (dims. c. 30m N-S x 30m E-W) defined by the slight dip of back filled moats that are only visible on the N (Wth 10m; D 0.3m) and E (Wth 3m; D 0.1m) sides.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
