The National Monuments Service's description
Located towards the bottom of the E-facing slope of Carrickmastia Hill at the junction with a less severe slope. This is a circular area (diam. c. 40m) defined by an earthen bank SE-W-N that is removed elsewhere. It is regarded locally as a rath, but is now largely incorporated into a farmyard.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
