The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in the valley of a NW-SE stream, c. 50m from the NE bank. The site of the parish church of Killincooly is within a raised subrectangular graveyard (dims. 33m E-W; 31m N-S) defined by masonry walls that are curved outwards at the N and S. According to a Visitation by Thomas Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1615 this church was impropriate to Henry Wallop and the name of the priest, if any, is not recorded. Nor is the condition of the church building recorded (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 268). The church is depicted as a rectangular structure (dim. c. 15m E-W) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, but there is no visible traces of it at ground level. There is a granite stone (dims. 0.5m x 0.32m x 0.3m) with a perforation and petal like decoration in relief on one side in the graveyard. There are also two polished quartz bowls and a fragment of a single stone cresset. St Mochain's Well (WX028-002----) is c. 130m to the NW. (Ranson 1945, 53-4)
