The National Monuments Service's description
Marked faintly as a rectangular feature (dims. c. 60m NW-SE; c. 50m NE-SW) described as the site of a fort on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is located on a level landscape. This is a rectangular, grass-covered area (dims. 34m NE-SW; 33m NW-SE) defined by back-filled moats at NW and SE (Wth 13m; D 0.6m), a low scarp at SW and a wide field drain at NE. (Barry 1977, 220, WX 60)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
