The National Monuments Service's description
According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) two ruined mills at Motabeg together with 300 acres were owned in 1641 by Sir Gerard Lowther, a Protestant, living in St. Johns (WX026-004002-) (Simington 1953, 72). This mill remains unlocated.
