The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as circular embanked enclosure on 1839 (ext. diam. c. 55m) and 1940 (diam. c. 45m) eds. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the S-facing slope of a low NE-SW ridge. It was recorded in 1940 as a circular area (diam. c. 30m N-S; c. 30m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.5-5m; int. H 0.6-1m; ext. H 0.6m N-E to 1-1.5m S-W), with an outer fosse (Wth of top c. 5m; ext. D 0.5m) SW-NW (OSFM). It was not visible in 1987 at ground level in a harvested cereal crop, but it is visible as the cropmark of a bivallate enclosure defined by a wider inner and narrower outer fosse features on digital aerial photograpyhs (WX026-039_1 to _4) from 2004.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
