The National Monuments Service's description
Described as the site of Raheen Task and depicted as a subrectangular feature on the 1839 (dims. c. 35m N-S; c. 20m E-W) and 1925 (dims. c. 40m N-S; c. 35m E-W) eds of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated at the base of the steep N-facing slope of a hill, and just N of the source of a small W-E stream. The E bank of rectangular enclosure survives (L 25m; Wth 4m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.5m), but there is no visible fosse or moat. The area W of the bank is occupied by spoil (Wth up to 14m; H 2m).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
