Marked as a bivallate circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 60-70m) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and referred to as 'Danesfort' in the OS Name Book (vol. 3). It is situated on a SW-facing slope of White Mountain with the NE-SW Pollmounty River c. 500m to the SE and the SE-NW Aughnacrew River c. 750m to the SW. It is not visible at ground level in pasture.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
