The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as large D-shaped embanked enclosure (ext. dims. c. 120m NW-SE; c. 110m NE-SW) with the straight side (L c. 75m) at SW on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated on a slight N-facing slope with the W-E Ballyedmond River c. 100m to the N. A portion of a fosse (Wth 2.5m) and traces of bank (H c. 0.3m) were visible N–S (diam. c. 45m) in the 1940s (SMR file) but are not visible at ground level in a cereal crop. An outline of the enclosure is visible on the OSI series of aerial photographs (2000) with a wide fosse feature (Wth c. 15m) visible SE-S-W.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
