The National Monuments Service's description
Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Ballydawmore 7 (Hardy et al. 2010, 84). It is situated on a slight rise on a N-facing slope with a small E-W stream c. 90m to the N and there is a natural hollow c. 40m to the W. Excavation (E4345) by L. Barker recorded a circular hearth (diam. 1.1m; T 0.12m) with an oxidised base and two charcoal-rich fills. A sample from the lower fill produced a C14 determination of Cal. AD 1435-1613, providing a late medieval date. The unrelated fulachta fia in Toom (WX020-102----; WX020-103----) are c. 190m to the WNW and c. 130m to the NW respectively. (McAuliffe 2012; Barker 2013)
