The National Monuments Service's description
Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme, and set aside for resolution as Dunsinane 4 (Hardy et al. 2010, 131-2). It is located on a slight rise at the base of a low hill, the summit of which is c. 500m to the W. It was excavated (E4324) by D. Gallagher as a hearth (dims 0.65m x 0.48m; T 0.16m) with three stake-holes on its N edge. A subrectangular pit (dims 2.1m x 0.68-1.28m max. D 0.6m) was adjacent to the W and contained fills with heat-affected stones and burnt bone. Fourteen smaller pits (dims 0.56m x 0.3m; D 0.13m to 1.25m x 1.25m; D 0.61m) and ten post-holes extended over a wider area to the W (dims c. 18m E-W; c. 10m N-S), but no pattern was discernible. The Neolithic houses (WX019-039001-: WX019-039002-) are c. 150m to the S, but they might be wholly unconnected. (Hardy 2012; Gallagher 2013)
