The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on relatively high ground c. 200m SW of Fern Castle (WX015-003001-). Archaeological testing and excavation (99E0527) uncovered a large ditch enclosing a circular area (int. diam. 14-16m) with an oval pit and an area of burning in the interior. No artefacts were recovered in relation to the enclosure. (Walsh 2000; Wallace 2002)
