The National Monuments Service's description
Excavated (E3486) during 2005 by E. Moore as part of Site 21 at Coolnaveagh, which was one of the excavations undertaken in advance of the construction of the N11 Arklow-Gorey link-road. Situated on a slight E-facing slope with the canalised N-S Banoge River c. 170m to the E. A penannular ditch (Wth 1.06-1.23m; max. D 0.3m) enclosed a circular area (int. diam. 4.7m; ext. diam. 6.3m) with an opening (Wth 2.4m) at N. Some cremated bone was found in the fill, most of it from a pit (dims 0.8m x 0.5m; D 0.32m) on the outer edge of the ditch at S. The cremation pit (WX012-033002-) is c. 60m to the ENE. (Moore 2008)
