The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight E-W spur of the N-S ridge associated with Slieveboy Hill. This is a circular grass and fern-covered area (diam. 36m E-W; 33m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5-6m; int. H 0.4m at W to 0.8-1.2m generally; ext. H 0.9m at W to 1.1-1.4m generally) with an outer fosse (Wth of top 5-6m; ext. D 1.2-2m) and external bank (Wth 5-6.8m; ext. H 0.6-1.2m). The present entrance and causeway (Wth 5m) at WSW may be original (max. Ext. diam. 55m E-W; 51.6m N-S). Archaeological testing (06E1208) c. 160m to the SE produced no related material (McLoughlin 2010).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
