The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) at the SW edge of a small wood (dims c. 100m NE-SW; c. 50m NW-SE) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated on a short E-W ridge at the NW base of Creagh Hill. No feature is visible at ground level but the cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) defined by a single fosse feature with an entrance gap at NE is visible on aerial photographs (MM (53) 13-17) located c. 30m to the NE and this is probably the monument. Rath (WX006-059002-) is immediately to the N and rath (WX006-085----) is c. 90m to the NW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
