Marked as a rectangular wooded area (dims. c. 35m N-S; c. 35m E-W) containing a circular embanked enclosure on the 1839 edition of the OS 6-inch map, and as a rectangular hachured feature on the 1940 edition. It is situated on a slight rise in a gentle E-facing slope in the valley of the NW-SE River Lask, with the stream c. 370m to the NE. It was recorded in 1940 as a subrectangular area (dims c. 33.5m N-S; c. 30m E-W) defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 1.5-3m; int. H c. 0.8m; ext. H c. 1.5-2m) with no fosse (OSFM). It was described locally in 1987 as rectangular, raised area (H c. 1m) with a fosse. It is not now visible at ground level in pasture but is visible as the cropmark of a rectangular enclosure (dims c. 38m NNW-SSE; c. 36m ENE-WSW) defined by fosses or moats (Wth c. 2m) on Google Earth (14/07/2018). The S end of the E side is not apparent in this image, which was first reported by Simon Dowling.
