The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a fulacht fia only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and located in an overgrown hollow close to the source of a stream on a N-facing slope overlooking the W-E valley of the Blackwater stream. It was recorded in 1939 as a C-shaped mound (Wth c. 9m; H c. 0.3-0.5m) open to the NW (diam. c. 6m) (OSFM). It was not visible at ground level in 1987, but it was noted by Ranson (1945, 54). The possible standing stone (WX005-017----) is c. 170m to the NNE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
