The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a SE-facing slope. This is the parish church of Kilnenor within a graveyard which is an irregularly-shaped or D-shaped raised area (dims. 53.5m NE-SW; 46.5m NW-SE) defined by earthen bank and hedge (Wth 2-4m; H 1.5m). According to a Visitation by Thomas Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1615 Garret McTege was the curate, and the church and chancel were in repair (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 273). The church had been destroyed by the mid-19th century, according to J. O'Donovan (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, 4-5), and no trace of it survives. Kilnenor Well, at which a pattern was held on 8th September until 1798 (ibid.) is a rectangular drystone-walled structure c. 30m SW of the church site, and is the source of a stream that runs off to the SE.
