The National Monuments Service's description
Three urns in cists were discovered in levelling the possible bailey at Loggan Lower motte and bailey (WX002-004001-). Another was found near a standing stone (WX002-004003-) (Kinahan 1882, 154–5), which appears to have been S of the bailey (Westropp 1904, 343). Further cists were found c. 300m to the W, but the precise locations of these discoveries cannot be identified. (Waddell 1990, 157)
The abovr description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
