The National Monuments Service's description

Situated at the crest of a S-facing slope. This is possibly of an early eccleciastical origin and is probably the parish church of Crosspatrick. According to a Visitation by Thomas Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1615 John Hughes was the rector and Garret McTeige the curate, but the church had been united with a nearby parish, probably Kilpipe, and the structure was in need of repair (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 266, 273). The remains consist of the foundations of a rectangular building (dims 22.3m E-W; 7.8m N-S; H c. 0.8m) with a possible entrance (Wth 1.8m) surviving in the N wall. Some graves are to the S of this structure. The church and graves are within a roughly oval eccleciastical enclosure (max. dims c. 140m NW-SE; c. 70m NE-SW) defined by stone wall WNW-NE with an earthen bank continuing on this line to SE outside the graveyard, and modern walls elsewhere. The possible rath (WX002-001003-) is within the ecclesiastical enclosure at N, and the mound (WX002-055----) is within it at SE. (Culleton 1999, 150, 159, 206)
