The National Monuments Service's description
The site (L 1.2m; Wth 1.04m; D 0.25m) is composed of a dense band of brushwood (diam. 0.028-0.055m) and roundwoods (diam. 0.07-0.096m) laid up to three pieces deep. The elements mostly lie in a N-S direction, with a small number lying perpendicular to these. A number of pieces bear metal-cut chisel points. Wood species include hazel, Pomoideae, alder and birch. The wood is in moderate condition and sits in well-humified Sphagnum peat containing frequent fibrous roots. It is located 1m NE of SMR WM039-287---- and SMR WM039-288----.
