The National Monuments Service's description
The site (Wth 1.5m; D 0.5m) consists of two dispersed layers of material with no clear orientation. The upper layer (Wth 0.83m; D 0.11m) is composed of one roundwood and eight pieces of brushwood, laid two pieces deep. While the majority of the elements are irregularly laid and widely spaced, four pieces of brushwood to the NE are closely spaced and have a shared orientation. The lower layer (Wth 0.45m; D 0.2m min.) is composed of four pieces of irregularly laid brushwood and occasional twigs. The lower layer is not positioned directly below the upper layer but beneath the SW end of it. A bronze stick pin (92E148:73) was recovered from the bottom of this layer but may not have been in situ. Woodworking is evidenced by a number of brushwood pieces with chisel points and two roundwoods with wedge points. Wood species include birch, holly and hazel. The site has been radiocarbon-dated to cal. AD 543-681 (UCD-0141). It is situated in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and is located 1.7m to the NE of SMR WM039-152----.
