The National Monuments Service's description

Situated near the end of a low ridge, in rough pasture, with good views of the surrounding landscape. Depicted on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as a suboval-shaped earthwork which is open to SE. Monument described in 1973 as a roughly oval-shaped area (dims. 58m NE-SW; 35m NW-SE) enclosed by a bank reduced to a scarp. A low bank is visible from NW-N-NE and from SE-S-SW and a low scarp from NE-E-SE and from SW-W-NW. The interior is quite uneven, rising irregularly towards the centre. Monument described in 1977 as levelled and traceable by a band of differential growth which presumably represents a backfilled fosse. Outlined of levelled monument is visible today as a roughly oval-shaped earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
