The National Monuments Service's description

Unlocated leper hospital in the townland of Spittaltown. The precise location of this hospital has not been identified (Bradley et. al. 1985, 17). This site is located some 1.5km NE of Ardnurcher settlement (WM031-104----) in the townland of Spittaltown. It has been identified as the site of the 'leper hospital of Ballenoragh'(Gwynn and Hadcock 1970, 356).
