The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on S-facing slope, in pasture with Ballintober House 140m to SW. Ringfort (WM031-045----) lies c. 106m to NW and ringfort (WM031-047----) lies c. 110m to NE. Depicted as a circular grove of trees and not as an antiquity on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map. Monument described in 1973 as a circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 36m) enclosed by a drystone wall with the remains of a shallow external fosse. The interior is much higher than the ground outside the wall and previously appears to have had a double ring of trees. This may have been a ringfort which was converted into a landscaped tree ring in the post 1700 period. Monument is visible today as a roughly circular-shaped tree-planted area on Digital Globe aerial photography.
