The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture. According to O’ Donovan (OSL 1837, 46), the ringfort was known locally as the ‘Cave Fort’ (OSNB 2). Annotated ‘Cave’ beside the ringfort on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map. In the centre of ringfort (WM030-095----) is a small depression with an opening on one side leading into an underground passage. The entrance into the souterrain has been backfilled with stones.
