The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a S-facing slope, in wet undulating pasture, overlooking the Tang River c. 45m to SE and with good views in all directions. Ringfort (WM030-016----) lies c. 65m to SW. Depicted on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as a subcircular-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1979 as a roughly oval-shaped area (dims. 32m E-W; 31m N-S) enclosed by a low bank and an external fosse. The bank is poorly preserved and is almost reduced to a low scarp. There are traces of a narrow, shallow outer fosse which is traceable from NW-N-E-ESE. The modern field fence runs roughly N-S across the monument at W, where the perimeter has been defaced. There is no indication of an entrance although there are disturbance gaps at N, E and S. The interior has a S-facing slope and an uneven surface. The entire perimeter and parts of the interior are overgrown with thorn trees and briars which are most dense across the E and S quadrants of the monument. Monument is visible today as a subcircular-shaped tree-planted area on Digital Globe aerial photography.
