The National Monuments Service's description
In National Museum of Ireland. Rectangular plaque with a heater shaped shield and garter with HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. The centre of the shield has a ragged staff set diagonally which is considered to be the arms of Thomas Radcliff, Earl of Essex. Dims. H 64cm, W 44cm (Bradley et. al. 1985, 33).
