The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the E side of a gentle rise, in undulating pasture, with fairly restricted views in all directions. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1971 as a small subcircular-shaped area (dims. 35m E-W; 31.5m N-S) defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank is high and steep on the exterior and is almost reduced to a scarp which has been steepened in modern times. It has been modified from S-W-NW where a laneway extends around the base. There are slight remains of a wide fosse which is best preserved from ESE-SE-S and is almost completely infilled from NW-N-E. A gap (Wth at top 4.8m; basal Wth 3.2m) at E represents a probable entrance, although there is no definite trace of a causeway. A large portion of the perimeter has been quarried at NW. The interior has a slight ENE-facing slope. Monument is visible today as a tree-lined earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
