The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a low ridge running roughly E-W, in pasture, with extensive views to N. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a rectangular-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1971 as a large rectangular-shaped area (dims. 38m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a low scarp, wide shallow fosse with traces of an earthen outer bank along the S side. A slight depression (Wth at top 7.8m; basal Wth 3m) in the upper edge of the scarp and a slight causeway (Wth at top 3.2m; basal Wth 6.3m; H approx. 0.2m) across the fosse at N presumably represents the entrance. There is a large quarry hole to the immediate N of the site.
