The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. Bivallate monument described in 1971 as a roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 41.5m N-S; 40.6m E-W) enclosed by an inner bank, an intervening fosse and an outer bank. The inner bank is steep on the exterior, although is much defaced and is reduced to a scarp from ESE-SE-SSE where there is a large stone partly embedded in the upper edge. There is a quarry hole at the base of the scarp at SE. The outer bank is substantial and survives from NE-E-ESE and has been levelled from ESE-S-W-N-NE. A wide fosse is best preserved from NE-E-ESE and is much disturbed from ESE-S-W-N-NE. The original entrance is not recognisable. The interior has a slight SSE-facing slope and is pitted with slight depressions which appear modern. A small area of rock protrudes the surface of the SSE quadrant.
See attached profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
