The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on top of a small rise (300ft/91m OD), in low lying wet pasture, with good views to SE. Monument described as a roughly circular-shaped area (52m NW-SE; 51m NE-SW) enclosed by a low steep bank with the remains of an external fosse. The bank is low, yet sharp and is almost reduced to a scarp (H 0.9m) which is irregular, having very slight concavities and appears straight in places. There are very slight traces of a fosse (overall Wth 4m; basal Wth 1.5m; approx. D 0.05m) and the original entrance is not visible. The interior rises gently from the perimeter towards the centre and there are no obvious features. Monument is visible on Digital Globe aerial photography as a much modified subrectangular-shaped earthwork whereby straight sides have been formed to NW, NE and SE whilst the bank has remained curvilinear from S-W-NW. In the immediate vicinity of the ringfort are a series of very low, linear and curvilinear banks, scarps and fosses. One bank intersects the base of the ringfort scarp at N and another at ESE.
