The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a low rise, in pasture, with lowlying ground S-W-N and a stream to N. Not depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map or the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map. Monument described as a roughly subcircular-shaped area (dims. 69m N-S; 63m E-W) defined by an inner bank, an intervening fosse and an outer bank with a potential entrance at SSE. The low, wide inner bank (max. int. H 0.4m; max. Wth 2m) is visible from E-S-W-NNE and is best preserved from S-W, having been reduced to a wide, irregular scarp from NNE-E. There is a wide, shallow intervening fosse and a low irregular outer bank (max. H 0.5m; max. Wth 2-3m) visible from E-S-W-NNE which is best preserved at SW. The fosse appears to be recut (Wth 3-4m; D 1.5-2m) at SW where it has been modified as a drain. The interior is uneven and rises irregularly towards the centre. There are post-1700 cultivation ridges running E-S across the monument. Monument is clearly visible on Digital Globe aerial photography as a large oval-shaped earthwork with a roughly rectangular-shaped annexe (approx. dims. 18m N-S x 30m E-W) adjoining to SE.
