The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on top of a low rounded rise, in undulating pasture, with good views to NW and SE, in former Deer Park of Jamestown House. Annotated ‘Fort’ and depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a substantial bank with an entrance gap at NE. Depicted as a tree-planted earthwork enclosed by a bank on the 1876 ed. OS 6-inch map. Upstanding remains of ringfort clearly visible on oblique aerial photographs (CUCAP AOY081/82/BDK024/25) taken 12/07/1966 and 14/07/1970 respectively. Levelled monument described in 1971 as no surface remains visible.
