The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions, except to E, where the ground rises from the site. Annotated ‘Fort’ and depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as a circular-shaped earthwork. Levelled monument described in 1971 as a roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 25.5m NW-SE; 24.7m NE-SW) defined by a distinctive narrow zone of vegetation (Wth 2.6m) which represents the remains of the levelled bank. There are vague suggestions of a backfilled fosse (Wth at top 3.8m; basal Wth 1.2m; D 0.1m) outside this zone. Large stones which have recently been deposited in the S corner of the field to the W may have come from the site. The interior has a slight SSW-facing slope.
