The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on top of a prominent rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. Monument described in 1971 and 1976 as a subrectangular-shaped area (dims. 41.4m WSW-ENE; 34.3m SSE-NNW) enclosed by a bank, an intervening fosse and an outer bank with causewayed entrance at ENE. The low inner bank is reduced to a scarp at NW. The intervening fosse is visible from SW-WNW, NE and E-ESE. The outer bank is visible from SW-WNW and at NE. The entrance is represented on the ENE by a gap (Wth at top 4m; basal Wth 2.1m) in the inner bank and a causeway (overall Wth 5.1m; Wth at top 3.1m; H 0.3m) across the fosse. Part of the exterior of the monument has been quarried away at WNW. The interior has an ENE-facing slope with traces of cultivation ridges running ENE-WSW. There is also a slight trace of an earth and stone bank running NNW-SSE across the interior and a rise where an OS trig. station marking OD 318 ft. once stood. The monument is truncated across the NW quadrant by a field boundary running NE-SW.
