The National Monuments Service's description
The files of the National Museum of Ireland records that in August 1946 human remains were discovered in a sand pit at Killynan (Pratt), near Killucan, Co. Westmeath (Cahill & Sikora 2011, vol. 2, 522). The remains were apparently found in a pile and were in a poor state of preservation. According to the finders, the bone represented at least eight individuals. No associated aretfacts or grave structures were noted. The site was not visited by NMI personnel and the remains were reburied locally (NMI File).
